MDA Camp Project

For the past several years, the Comporium Pioneer Club has enjoyed being a part of this exciting program by providing breakfast to the campers one of the mornings. For volunteers, it’s more than just a chance to serve a hearty breakfast, it’s also a chance for volunteers to interact with the children and to share their time and their love.

Led by Angelia Childers and Betty Mosely, Pioneer Club volunteers arrive early in the morning and set about preparing breakfast. The meal required dozens of eggs, pounds of bacon and grits, and a mountain of biscuits and English muffins to feed the campers, all between the ages of 6 and 16, that were spending their week at Bethelwoods. The team also served breakfast to the counselors and staff who make the camp a possibility.
