Day 86

125 STORIES IN 125 DAYS

In 2004, we began the President’s Intern Program. This program gives children and grandchildren of employees the opportunity to work for Comporium during their summer break from school. Many work groups throughout the enterprise offer a variety of positions. Each year, Bryant Barnes personally reviews the applications and makes the final decision on placements. The President’s Intern Program was challenged by COVID-19 restrictions in 2020, but we were able to place several interns with some even working from home. From 2004 through 2020, we have been able to place 188 students. The program isn’t designed to be a recruitment tool, but 20 interns eventually became full-time employees with seven of those still employed today.

The picture shows interns from the first year having lunch with Bryant Barnes.
